Update 3 – Conference in Florence
Dear Reader,
I am pleased to announce that my paper entitled “A Lesson from Multilevel Negotiations Concerning Geopolitically Sensitive Investment Projects: How Creativity and a Lack of Formalism Led to Parties’ Satisfaction in the Case of East Coast Rail Link” was selected for presentation at the ILA Conference “Shaping Appropriate ADR in International Law”, which took place on Monday, 7 April 2025, at Villa Ruspoli in Florence.
While the paper does not directly address the issue of reverse discrimination, its analysis of the geostrategic dimensions of investment disputes offers complementary perspectives that enrich the broader research framework of the project.
The discussions and networking opportunities that followed the conference also proved valuable in disseminating knowledge about the project and its ongoing development within the academic community.
Further updates on the project will be provided at the end of July 2025.
